Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, is the most populous city and centrally-governed city of Vietnam, with a population of more than 14 million in 2025. Its geography is defined by rivers and canals, of which the largest is the Saigon River.

As soon as you arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, you'll be struck by the vibrant atmosphere. The streets are teeming with scooters, street vendors, and locals going about their daily business. The city was formerly known as Saigon and is still referred to by that name by many locals.
